The Unvoiced is an extended vocal journey combining electronics, toy instruments and video. The piece is based on the sacred 72 unit name of GOD, which traditionally, is not pronounced, because of its powerful mystic force. This piece uses the abstract letter combinations and reclaims a lost practice in order to reinvent a language of the future.
musica nova
Musica Nova Consort is an Israeli contemporary and experimental Music Ensemble.
Since its establishment in 1986, Musica Nova has been at the forefront of Israel's experimental music scene, programming new works by Israeli and international artists as well as pieces from the experimental music repertory. The collective premiered over 180 Israeli compositions, and the group continuously collaborates with renowned international composers and performers such as Michael Pisaro, Anthony Coleman, Joan La Barbara, Morton Sobotnick, Jennifer Walsh, David Grubbs, Steven Takasugi and many others. Informed in American experimentalism, the European avant-garde and free improvisation, together with a multidisciplinary approach to the arts, the collective often bridges the gap between Concert Hall music and other artistic disciplines such as dance, video-Art and theater. The Ensemble’s members comprise of the finest performers and specialists in the field. The artistic committee includes Amnon Wolman, Assaf Shatil, Maayan Tsadka, Shira Legmann, Yoni Niv and Tom Soloveitzik. Other musicians involved in the collective include Dan Weinstein, Yiftah Kadan, Ofer Bymel, Haggai Fershtman, Daniel Davidovsky and may others. Musica Nova is supported by the Ministry of cultural affairs, the City of Tel Aviv and is currently the Ensemble-in-residence at Musrara School of the Arts.
